EXPERIENCE
Marla has been a psychotherapist for over 25 years. Her theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT).
As her mentors have said, “We treat people, not behaviors”.
She is a seasoned Psychotherapist, Retreat Facilitator, and Public Speaker. Marla is a Writer and Adjunct Faculty at Wayne State University’s Graduate School of Social Work, where she taught Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Grief & Loss, DSM5, and Mindfulness. Marla has additional expertise in helping Empath’s live their best lives! She is also certified in Nutrition and Integrative Medicine in Mental Health.
In addition to individual sessions, she works with couples, and facilitates groups. Women have been joining her on Escapes to replenish their souls for over a decade! Many women have attended Escapes repeatedly!
Former Host of WMTV’s “The Social Mention” a talk show on enhancing health, wellness and lifestyle. Having worked within the Henry Ford Health System for decades, Marla has expertise in both clinical and medical social work.
